BEV Diag

Know the real health of your EV battery

BEV Diag reads your electric car's traction battery through an ELM327/STN OBD adapter and shows state of health, capacity, cell voltages and more. Works with every Nissan Leaf, with experimental support for the Kia e-Soul, Kia e-Niro and Hyundai Kona Electric.

What it does

Battery health

State of charge, state of health, capacity in Ah and Hx, read straight from the battery controller.

Cell voltages

See every cell and spot a weak one before it costs you range.

Road test

A guided 20 to 80 km/h acceleration test with charts of power and voltage sag.

Session recording

Record drives with GPS and export them to CSV or JSON. Your data stays on your phone.

Bluetooth and WiFi

Works with common ELM327 and STN OBD adapters over BLE, Bluetooth or WiFi.

Battery card

Share a clean summary of your battery's health, handy when buying or selling a used EV.

Supported cars

Nissan Leaf AZE0

Supported

2013 to 2017 · 24 and 30 kWh

The reference car: every reading is checked against a 2014 Leaf on Android and iOS.

Nissan Leaf ZE1

Supported

2018 and newer · 40 kWh and e+ 62 kWh

Confirmed by beta testers on both pack sizes, including on iPhone.

Nissan Leaf ZE0

Supported

2011 to 2013 · 24 kWh

Confirmed by beta testers, including cars with a swapped battery.

Kia e-Soul, e-Niro, Hyundai Kona Electric

Experimental

e-Soul 2019 and newer, e-Niro, Kona Electric · 39.2 and 64 kWh

State of charge, pack voltage, current and power, every cell voltage, battery temperatures, odometer and lifetime energy counters. First tested on an e-Soul 64 kWh; state of health is not reliable yet.

Leafs with a swapped or upgraded battery (40, 62 kWh or custom packs) are recognised by the pack itself, not by the model year. Driving another EV? Join the beta and tell us about it.
